A lifelong resident of southeast Manitoba, Monica Guetre was raised on a dairy farm before pursuing a degree at the University of Winnipeg in geology and remote sensing.
During her time at university she became active, getting involved in politics while creating diploma programming for the continuing education department in business communications and ethics, juggling her free time as VP of the association of employees and assisted in developing the sexual harassment guidelines.
Following university, Monica travelled to many countries while volunteering to work with refugees and refugee organizations.
Upon her return to Canada, she worked as the office manager for the Rae-Edzo Dene Band Corporation, Behchokǫ̀, N.W.T tasked with managing and seeking funding for economic development.
For the past 24 years, Monica has worked at a major pharmaceutical manufacturer facility in finance and customs trade compliance.
She is also a featured editorialist for a local southeast newspaper passionately advocating for Manitobans and common sense.
She has sat on the board of a southeast daycare, volunteered for the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program and with a local youth baseball team.
